Bonding

A cosmetic dental technique called bonding enables the dentist to restore or remodel your smile using composite resin. If you’re self-conscious about the way your smile looks or want a less intrusive, less expensive alternative to orthodontics or veneers, cosmetic bonding is especially recommended. Chipped or uneven teeth can be readily and economically fixed by bonding, giving you back your confidence. Furthermore, bonding is sometimes achieved in a single appointment with no anesthesia!

Bonding will ultimately need to be changed since it will eventually wear out and deteriorate, but it is quite resilient and usually lasts for many years.

The Benefits of Cosmetic Bonding

  • Bridging any gaps or voids.
  • Repairing shattered teeth.
  • Repairing rotten teeth (teeth with cavities).
  • Uneven tooth lengthening.
  • Safeguarding exposed roots caused by receding gums.
  • Restoring teeth with severe stains.

What Happens During Bonding?

The dentist will first isolate the teeth involved in the operation and etch them in order to prepare them for bonding. The surface of the teeth will have tiny cracks after using the etching precondition liquid, allowing for a better connection between the tooth and the bonding agent.

After that, the dentist will use a bonding glue to fix the composite in place. Following the application of multiple coats of tooth-colored composite, the composite and bonding resin will be molded and hardened using a carefully calibrated light. After the composite has fully hardened, the bonded regions are polished, buffed, and smoothed to look just like the neighboring teeth.
